Staff at TSB’s Winchester branch have completed a mammoth cycling challenge and raised £127 for Friends of the Family. Jack Berry and Carl Steadman volunteered to undertake the charity bike ride on an exercise bike located in the TSB branch. The challenge took place on Friday 19th May at 9am with Jack and Carl each taking 30 minute turns on the bike. They completed the challenge at 3pm after notching up an impressive 100 miles.

Branch Manager Jack Berry said: “Friends of the Family is a vital part of our local community and we’re really proud to have them as our Local Charity Partner. Our team in Winchester have worked hard putting in a lot of time and dedication to make this bike ride a success. We hope that our efforts will make a big difference to local families.”

Viv Wheeler, Chair of Trustees at Friends of the Family, said: “We are hugely grateful to TSB staff in Winchester for their fantastic efforts and to Orange Theory Fitness for the loan of the bike. All of the money raised will go towards helping us support vulnerable children and families across the Winchester district.”

Friends of the Family was chosen as TSB’s Local Charity Partner in Winchester in September 2016 after receiving more nominations than any other charity. To kick start the partnership, TSB presented Friends of the Family with a cheque for £100. TSB staff are undertaking activities throughout the year to raise funds and awareness of Friends of the Family.
