5s to13s befriending summer activity day to Calshot
Twelve children and ten volunteers from our 5s to 13s Befriending experienced a day of thrills and spills at Calshot Activity Centre on 30th August 2017.
The summer activity day which was funded by the Winchester Rotary and supported by Vincent de Paul Society gave the children and their volunteers the chance to participate in a variety of exciting physical activities including Bouldering (low level rock climbing), Ringos (sliding down a dry ski slope in a rubber ring) and the Giant Swing (up to a 40ft free fall swing to experience the feeling of 3G)
It was great to see the children’s confidence grow over the day as they were pushed out of their comfort zone to try new activities. Our thanks also goes to our wonderful volunteers who proved to be great role models for the children by having a go too!
