Stained-Glass Window Workshop
On Thursday 6th November the 5s to 13s focus children and their befrienders were invited to Winchester Cathedral to learn about the history of the West Window and create their own stained-glass windows with Aisha and Emma from the Education Team.
Once shown how to create their own windows the children and adults were totally absorbed in the activity and you could hear a pin drop in the Under Croft. Spontaneously one child said, “This is really relaxing I could do this all day!”
Everyone worked at their own pace, and each produced a beautiful and unique stained-glass window to take home. The awe and wonder came when we took their windows outside into the darkness of The Inner Close and shone a light through them. The children and adults were thrilled to see the effect and how beautiful their tissue paper designs looked.
