Festive Fun for 5s to 13s Befriending!
On Wednesday 10th December the children and volunteers from our 5s to 13s Befriending service had a wonderful afternoon of festive fun at the Salvation Army Hall.
Numerous creative activities were laid out for the children and volunteers to enjoy, including gingerbread biscuit decorating, clay snowmen, bauble painting, Christmas tree decorations and Christmas painting on mini canvas’.
There was also festive treats for everyone share! The children and adults enjoyed delicious hot chocolates, Christmas tree pizzas and mini chocolate Christmas pudding muffins. and of course it wouldn’t be Christmas without some cheese stars and pineapple on festive cocktail sticks!
At the end of the workshop we gathered round the beautiful Christmas tree and all the children were presented with a Christmas bag containing specially selected gifts from the wonderful congregation at the Salvation Army. The children were thrilled to see what they had been given and one little girl said “These presents are awesome! I have been wanting to learn to crochet, so this crochet set is brilliant. I cant wait to get started!”
Our heartfelt thanks goes to Chris Baker at the Salvation Army who coordinated these incredible gifts for all the children who are currently being supported by Friends of the Family. Thank you!
