5s to 13s Farmyard Fun!

On Wednesday 25th March, our 5s to 13s focus children and their befrienders put on their wellies and headed down to Walnut Tree Farm for an afternoon of farmyard fun. After a quick safety briefing they were warmly greeted by Wallis the goat and Fernando the turkey before heading into the farm.

The farm’s owner, Paula, gave the children a guided tour of the farm and introducing them to the menagerie of animals that included ponies, chickens, goats, sheep, alpacas, peacocks, and two very noisy baby lambs!

After holding the chicks and feeding the ponies the children were encouraged to collect the eggs from the hen houses and then hand feed the lambs with bottles of milk.

It was a super hands on experience for the children and they all thoroughly enjoyed the session.
