Press release: HM Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire visits Friends of the Family

On Friday 13th October, Friends of the Family was delighted to welcome HM Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire, Nigel Atkinson Esq, who was visiting to find out more about the charity’s valuable work in the community.

The Lord-Lieutenant met staff and trustees and learnt about the charity’s work supporting vulnerable families across Winchester. He also spent time with the Under 5’s mother and baby group where he chatted with the mums and volunteers.

The Lord-Lieutenant said: “I was delighted to have the opportunity to visit Friends of the Family and was hugely impressed with the amazing work they do on behalf of vulnerable families in Winchester.”

Chair of Trustees, Viv Wheeler, said: “It was wonderful to meet The Lord-Lieutenant and to discuss the specialised projects that we run. We value the time he spent with us hearing about the families we help.”
