Pocket Ponies!

5s to 13s children and their befrienders had a wonderful afternoon at Pocket Ponies in Hensting on Saturday 11th July. The children and adults were introduced to five very cute Shetland ponies called Dexter, Dudley, Dave, Nuttie and Jack who were all waiting to be groomed and walked around the paddock. The ponies “enjoyed” having their manes and tails coiffured and adorned with plaits and bows by the children whilst their owners Sharon and Angela, talked to the children about the individual characters of the ponies to help them feel more confident around them. After a long walk in the hot sunshine both the ponies and children were ready for some healthy snacks and drinks and the children were awarded with rosettes for their excellent pony handling skills. One of the children’s mum messaged afterwards to say “My daughter absolutely loved meeting the ponies! She was a bit nervous before she left to see them with her befriender but ended up having a wonderful time, thank you so much!”
