During a supervision session with a 5s to 13s Befriender it came about that her focus child had out grown his bike and was really missing getting out and cycling in his local area. The befriender was keen to get him active on a bike again for his physical and mental health so we contacted Bespoke Biking in Winchester to see if they could help.

Heather Evans from Bespoke Biking was so supportive and despite not being able to promise that they would have anything suitable in the shop she made an appointment there and then for the befriender to bring her focus child down after school later in the week to try out some bikes. The focus child was nervous about going to meet new adults but his befriender reassured him that she would be there to help. Once there the nerves disappeared and were replaced by excitement as he was offered a beautiful blue adult sized bike for free!

The focus child’s mum said ” A huge thank you to everyone at Bespoke Biking this new bike has been great for getting my son back out and about again. It is such good exercise for him and it keeps him busy!” and her son said “I love exploring the woods on my new bike. It’s really cool because its blue which is my favourite colour!”
